Building on the success of last year’s summer music camp, the BNSO will again offer a two-week music camp for violin, viola, cello, and double bass players as well as wind and reed instruments and percussion.

Intermediate and Advanced
9:00am - 11:00am Individual supervised practice: individual instruction/coaching each hour every day, weekly video lab to record and watch themselves playing. 11:00am - noon Singing for harmony and intonation. Understanding intervals: sing and identify all intervals. History of violin Musical styles Some DVD’s of historic and present performers both classical and other. There are wonderful classical composers today, it’s never stopped

1:00pm—3:00pm Review of physical exercises that will enhance their playing and stamina To include solo repertoire where it overlaps. Ensemble pieces to present at final concert
Beginners and others
9:00am—10:00am Physical exercises to stretch and strengthen especially upper body Music mind games and reading musical symbols Singing easy songs for pitch and basic intervals Rhythm in music 10:00am—11:00am Story telling relating to music, Peter and the Wolfe, etc. Poetry with emotions, beats and story lines Adding movement to these ideas 11:00am—noon Group classes with instruments Emphasis on discipline of posture, (for example, bow position and violin balance) To include individual instruction in a group/master class setting Attending parents can also participate.

1:00pm—3:00pm A programme will be decided depending on the number of registrations. After 3:00 pm Additional individual violin or viola lessons may be scheduled with Mr Goldman.
