The Bahamas National Symphony Orchestra will perform in concert on Saturday, 15th May 2010, at The College of The Bahamas Performing Art Centre at 8:00 p.m.

Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes as you listen to a piece of music or arrive at a concert? The Bahamas National Symphony Orchestra will give you a wonderful opportunity to experience the very best of composer and Arranger, Denis Donaldson, Conductor, Douglas Turnquest and Concert Master, Jennifer Hudson as they combine their considerable talents to perform both classical and contemporary music for one night only!

Imagine an evening at the new, state of the art College of The Bahamas Performing Arts Centre when the lights are dimmed and the conductor strikes up The Bahamas National Symphony Orchestra. It is an opportunity not to be missed.

The concert will feature, for the very first time a Mystery Male Vocalist, backed by the full Bahamas Symphony Orchestra performing music written and composed for that very evening.

Recently the apprentice musicians travelled to Florida to attend the Suzuki Violin Association apprentice training with their counterparts from across the State of Florida. The training was described by well-known composer and BNSO Treasurer Donaldson as, “An opportunity of a lifetime for our apprentice musicians to learn and interact with musicians under the direction of Mr. Martin Goldman, president of the Suzuki Violin Association. The training in March demonstrated the talents and high quality of performance of our apprentice musicians for who all proceeds of the concert will be earmarked.”

Jennifer Hudson, Concert Master added that the Concert, under the theme _____________________________________showcases, not only the newer members of the Symphony Orchestra but also the founding members spanning years.

Mrs. Hudson noted that tickets are available at The Linen Shop, Bay Street; Logos Book Store, Harbour Bay Shopping Centre and Maranatha Music Centre, Mt. Royal Avenue 7 Rosetta Street. Advanced ticket sales are priced at $30.00 for adults and $15.00 for students... Bulk tickets are also available.
