17 October 2009:

The coveted Griffon d'Or was awarded to JDV and BNSO! At the 14th Annual Gala of the Griffon d'Or, they were nominated as a finalist for the Cultural Event of the Year, along with the MSO (Montreal Symphony Orchestra). Their Concert was held last June as part of the Canada-Bahamas exchange where 14 Bahamians, members of the Bahamas National Symphony orchestra joined the Jardin des Violons to perform at the concert and spend a week with Canadian families. In addition, The group was also called to play for the opening of the ceremonies. You can watch their performance on YouTube.

7 Dec: St. Andrews (The Kirk) at 7:30 pm. BNSO members to perform at The Adventist Men's Chorale Concert. Proceeds to aid schorlarship fund for “at risk young men” and “Bahamas Academy Building fund”.
